I was trying to find a group to run with on regular basis and this is my attempt to make one. The goal is to train for various races and find running partners. This would be especially awesome for longer runs and they fly by faster with friends. I'm hoping to get in a longer run on the weekend, a few short runs and an intermediate run during the week. Come to all or just one! Most (all?) of the runs will be in the city. Races that I'd like to run: 1. San Francisco marathon (half or full) - Jun …

ChiRunning is an effortless and injury-free running technique that will make you feel like you are running like the wind! My goal in creating this meetup group is to create a ChiRunning Community here in the SF Bay Area, where our focus is on running more naturally, feeling lighter and more efficient, reducing impact and feeling simply amazing when we run. Blending principles of Tai Chi, including core strength and posture, an inner focus, and the natural flow of energy, with the power and str …

A group for runners who love the trail but can't always make it to the hills. We turn city runs into trail runs. We add hills, stairs, beaches, piers, bridges and anywhere we can to turn boring distance runs into something a little more fun. Any one can organize a run, anyone can join a run. Have fun and run your little legs off.
McClaren Park's trails are perfect for a 3-6 mile trail run. This group is for anyone who wants to run trails but doesn't want to get in the car to go running. 9-10 minute milers, dogs OK. Perfect for that mid-week late afternoon/evening training run. Casual, non-competitive.

This group is inspired by Marin Social Runners group, a fun and motivating running group in Marin. Since I live in Petaluma and can't attend their weekday runs, I wanted to start something closer to home for weekday morning runs. Like the Marin group, I'd like this one to be for intermediate runners to do 5-13 mile runs, at a pace of 9-12 minute miles. But all members from beginners to advanced are welcome to post runs that suit your pace and skill set.
It's pretty straightforward. We're a group of people that like to run and have fun! Every Wednesday we meet at a different local bar throughout San Fran, RUN, and always have the end destination be that same bar, where we cool down and socialize over drinks. If you're in your 20-30s (or just think you can hang) with a fun and outgoing personality looking to meet new people, then come join us! We welcome runners at all different paces. Everyone can find someone at their pace to run with. It is …

For true beginners looking for support and the chance to get active!

This is a group for anyone interested in running, training, jogging, walking, hiking with others along the beautiful trails and hills in the Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont. All skills levels are welcome. I started this group because I realize that training or running alone is very difficult and can be very unsafe. This is also a group for those training for a marathon or half marathon or any other distance event. I have run 16 marathons and several half marathons and I can help you get to …

Calling all Trail Runners! We love running on the dirt. Trail running is way more fun than running on the pavement, around noisy cars and unhealthy exhaust. We get to be one with nature. Hills and mountains are our friends. The trails allow less impact on the body than running on pavement and we use more muscles groups which makes us stronger. Trails also improve our balance and agility, activating our core muscles even more than running on flat surfaces. Time flies when we are trail running! We …

"I used to be a runner and I miss it." "I have always thought I would like to be a runner." "I am a walker, but I would like to make the transition to running." My intention is to create a fun, non-competitive environment where new, tentative, and slow runners can feel comfortable to enjoy running in beautiful surroundings with supportive friends. These mission-to-mission walks are open to all who enjoy nature, art, history. And walking. Though many of the walks are between 16-22 miles, they're set at a reasonable pace and are easy to train for. Why'd You Start the Group? Long story short: In March 2011 I walked 330 miles of the Camino de Santiago, a 1,200 year-old pilgrimage route in Spain. I lived with very little for 3 weeks. I experienced nature, art, and history. I met people from all around the world on the same simple quest - to r …
