Come on our and meet other runners to keep motivated. This group is designed to provide education, support and motivation to beginning and advanced runners. Learn running technique, increase running speed, and proper tools to prevent those running injuries that often put you on the sideline. As a personal trainer I often find people want to start a running program but don't have the knowledge, motivation, support and encouragement they need to get started. You will also meet others that are at …
----May I invite all who can to join me and become POLAR BEARS FOR THE POLAR BEARS, at Fargo Street beach, two blocks south of Howard, every morning at seven thirty? Since autumn I have been in swimming regularly. I run in the water and dip myself and paddle madly with my hands for a minute or two. I wear old sneakers and a bathing suit. THE POLAR BEARS ARE DROWNING because they must swim longer and longer distances between ice flows as the ice cap on the Arctic Ocean melts owing the global warm …

We've got beautiful stretches of lakefront path and terrific, fun neighborhoods to run through right here in Uptown. The goal of this group is to connect with other runners in the area and find running buddies! Organizers will host 2-3 runs a week, but all members can request to host runs themselves. This is a very friendly running group. Every Monday and Wednesday evening at 6:30, the group meets up at Runners Grove. From there, the group splits up into smaller groups of runners depending on distance and pace. Distances vary between 3 and 6 miles. Paces vary between 6:30-11 minute miles. After the run on Wednesday night, a number of people meet up at "Another Round" for dinner and drinks.
Hey girls! So I started this group for young women like myself who want to meet other girls who enjoy running. To join this group, please be in your 20's or 30's and single with no kids. I'm sorry for these restrictions, but I feel that it's a little easier to make new friends that you click with if you're in similar stages of your life. Running events and races will be held in both the city and the burbs. Feel free to suggest any races that you're interested in doing!
I challenged myself to do 12 5ks in 12 months. In the end it was the best challenge I have ever set for myself because it turned out to be an adventure than I had not anticipated on having. Anyways, I wanted to make the expereince more social. I know a lot of people sign up for races because of family or friends, but what happens when that person can't go and you don't have any body to do a particular race with you? I know, most people end up not doing the race in that situation! So, I figured c …

Myself and my coworkers are runners looking for some motivation during the winter months. We work at element wellness located at 233 W North Ave (near North and Wells) and want to start a weekly running group. We will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6pm at element and go out for 3-4 mile run and come back. The best part is that our office is a raw juice and smoothie bar so all attendees will get a free juice or smoothie at the end of their run!
There are no upcoming Meetups.
I am looking to recruit runners for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to run with Ronald McDonald House Charities. Last year Team RMHC had over 400 runners and raised over $700,000 for the charity. As you might imagine, many of the children and families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities are running their own marathon—as they fight disease, illness and injury, and persevere through months or even years of hospital visits, surgeries and outpatient recovery. These children are worki …
It's time for our collective neighborhoods to have their own running group. All levels, all paces, all distances welcome. I recommend starting with one or two weeknight runs? Those interested we can end the evening with a beer at a local bar.

We are a casual running club that holds group runs close to western Cook County, and eastern DuPage County. Most runs are in the Brookfield, Lyons, Riverside, La Grange, La Grange Park, Westchester, and Western Springs area. Other surrounding areas like Hinsdale, and Darien, and Westmont have a very strong running population and great places to run. We are slowly building a pool of people of all abilities so that we could have a place to make new friends, find new motivation, undertake new endea …

Ever hear the old cliche "Birds of a feather flock together"? Well here is a new one for you... "Friends that run together will stay fit forever". That's exactly what we believe so we created a group to help keep us together; not only to run together but also to build a team and strengthen our friendships with people who love to run as much as we do. Our Philosophy: To be a quality distance runner it takes more than distance training and unless you are the type of person who enjoys self tortur …
